Valentine Party

What a fast and crazy day it was today!  We passed our Valentine's earlier in the afternoon and when we came back from music it was time to PARTY!  I had 3 stations for the kiddos to rotate through: candy heart estimation and stacking, licorice races, and a snack station!  Here a few snapshots of our Valentine party.....

Jump Rope For Heart

What a great day for Jump Rope for Heart!  The kids had a great time jumping, snacking, and dancing!   Our gym teacher does a great job organizing this event every year and the kids love it!

Writing a Message

In the area of writing we are still busy working on writing true narrative stories.  However, during our  grammar time we are busy working on learning the form of a personal letter!  This is also tying in with the grammar work we are doing on capitalizing personal nouns.  Today we practiced writing a group letter to our classroom bird: Olaf!

100th Day Part Two

In the afternoon we made 100th day fruit loop necklaces!  The kiddos worked really hard on this project!  When they were finished they practiced writing to 100 and worked on doing a one hundred hunt inside of our classroom!

At the end of the day we went to the gym for our whole school assembly!  Mr. Bierman gave a one hundred word speech and there were drawings for classroom awards for various activities we worked on during the day.  And finally the teachers participated in a 100 cup stacking contest!  It was a fun way to end the day!

100 Day Fun

What a FABULOUS day we are having in kindergarten today!  We have been SUPER busy all day celebrating the 100th day of school!

We started our day off with decorating our 100th day super hero masks to go with our AWESOME capes!  We read several 100th day stories, found out how many times we can write our name in 100 seconds, and created funky 100th day hats!  We ended our morning with a visit from ZERO THE HERO!  The kiddos loved the special visitor and heard about how important zero is when making numbers!  The afternoon holds more fun and activities!  Post to follow after school!
